Chelsea Perez is a composer, musician, and teacher. She was born in Alameda, California, and grew up primarily in Austin, Texas. Her Composition Journey started when she joined her high school's new music ensemble, where she worked on a film score project for the Buster Keaton film, Convict 13.  She currently studies under Dr.Ippolito and Dr. Asbell.  She was a part of the TXST symphony for multiple semesters as well as being a part of TXST new music ensemble, Mysterium.In her time with Mysterium, she went to a music and media festival where she got to perform with the group in Indiana. She is currently studying to earn her bachelor's in music education and has been teaching in the university's String Project program for 2 years. She has also been a member of ASTA as well as Texas State’s ASTA chapter, where she served as vice president and currently is serving as president of the student chapter. Last year, she helped give a presentation on ‘best practices for teaching lessons’ at the ASTA national conference in San Fransico, California. She plays the violin and viola.

Perez gets a lot of inspiration from art and scenery in day-to-day landscapes. She also does a lot of her compositions based on emotions.
